I made this printable summer camp activity book for Elise’s first year at summer sleep-away camp. She’ll be gone for five days and I thought it would be fun for her to have a booklet to journal all about camp.

There’s a welcome page that explains that you can sketch, doodle, write, draw as much or little as you wish…
…and a dedicated page for each day of the week.
…plus four open-ended Q&A pages to share camp observations and feelings.
I included lots of blank pages in this printable summer camp activity book for Elise to draw and doodle and write whatever she’d like. I designed this printable summer camp activity book using Illustrator and some super cute trees, tents and stars designed by Freepik.
Elise was super excited about it. She tucked it into her daypack and already had it out in her lap after boarding the bus to summer camp.
I think it will be fun for her to have during daily afternoon rest time. And selfishly, I can’t wait to get more details about camp rather than just a vague “it was fun.”

How to make a printable summer camp activity book for kids:
Print Kathy’s printable summer camp activity book (Merriment Design) – PDF. My free booklet and cover is generic, but you can contact me to personalize it for you. Print the individual pages on white presentation paper or white card stock paper – regular printer paper is too thin and markers will bleed through.
You’re going to print some pages on the backs of other pages to make a book. Print these pages together:
- Welcome on the front, flip over and print Q&A5 on the back
- Monday on the front, flip over and print Q&A4 on the back
- Tuesday on the front, flip over and print Q&A3 on the back
- Wednesday on the front, flip over and print Q&A2 on the back
- Thursday on the front, flip over and print Q&A1 on the back
- Friday on the front, flip over and print Q&A on the back
Fold the cover and each page in half. See my Chicago skyline notecard tutorial to see how to make perfect folds using a craft knife, metal ruler and self-healing mat.
Punch teeny 1/4″ holes in the center of the pages. I like this 1/4 hole punch because it’s comfortable on my hand to use.
Thread baker’s twine through the holes two times and tie. This is kind of my poor-man’s book binding but for this camp booklet, it works.
Place the camp booklet and markers or colored pencils in a plastic baggie to keep it dry from the bug spray, bathing suits and sunscreen.
