We have a new Christmas tradition in our family: the Four Gift Christmas. We give four Christmas gifts to each of our children from mommy and daddy:
- Something You Want
- Something You Need
- Something To Make
- Something To Read
Today I’m going to tell you about it and give you free personalized printable Four Gift Christmas gift tags in red and green for your own Four Gift Christmas. Just download, type your own names, and print.
UPDATE: By request, below I’m also giving you free printable gift tags for the original Want/Need/Wear/Read.
It started last year with a suggestion from a mom friend of mine on an online chat board. She shared this article about how to focus more on meaningful gifts and reign in the commercialization of Christmas. What a genius idea!
Originally the Four Gift Christmas was Want, Need, Wear, Read. But because creativity is so important to me I switched ‘Wear’ to ‘Make.’
The price range of these four gifts can be whatever you want for your own family. This year I’ve decided to keep spending in check so that we can give more of our holiday budget to charities that help families who need things more than we do.
You can also get my free printable Four Gift Christmas gift tags in blue.

How to make a free printable Four Gift Christmas gift tags:
So easy. Just download my free printable Four Gift Christmas gift tags: “Want, Need, Make, Read” (PDF) or “Want, Need, Wear, Read” (PDF). Open it in Adobe Reader (not in a web browser), type in your own names to personalize the tags, and print.
Our children are young so I’m glad that we started this early so it can really be a family tradition for us. And yes, I did give my three-year-old son construction vehicle sheets for Christmas. He has used them every day since.

Hi Jessica! Yes, I can change it or set it up to be editable. What did you have in mind? I'm so happy that you like them!

This is exactly what we were looking for except we don't use make, we use wear. Could you make one like that by any chance? I would REALLY appreciate it!
