This free printable 2022 New Year’s Eve party hat template was inspired by my clock-obsessed toddler, Elise. By request, I updated last year’s free printable New Year’s Eve hat template to update it in pink, yellow, purple, and blue — plus a blank black & white version to print on any color paper (and save your printer ink) or let the kids color it with crayons.

I’ve never been so happy to say goodbye to a year. So let’s welcome 2022 with a cute printable New Year’s party hat — things are looking up!

Supplies for making my free printable New Year’s Eve party hats for 2022:

• Kathy’s 2022 New Year’s Eve Party Hat free printable template (PDF) in blue, purple, yellow, pink — plus a blank New Year’s Eve hat template to color or print on colored card stock
• Bright white card stock paper (I love this brand)
• Good paper scissors
• Ribbon
• Scotch tape or stapler
• Craft knife and self-healing mat

How to make my free printable New Year’s Eve Party Hats:

Step 1: Print and cut out my New Year’s Eve Party Hats template PDF

Print my 2022 free printable New Year’s Eve Party Hats on bright white cardstock paper. Cut out the New Year’s Eve party hat, carefully cutting the two white slits on the hat tab. Using your craft knife and self-healing mat carefully cut the slit in the 2021 New Year’s Party Hat template – I freehanded it but you could also use a metal ruler as your guide.

Step 2: Add a ribbon to the top of  your DIY New Year’s Eve Party Hats

Use ribbon, or take apart some curly ribbon bows – I had these bows leftover from Elise’s stickers birthday party – or you can curl your own ribbon. Grab a couple of curly ribbons and fold them in the middle.

Tie a knot in the middle of the curly ribbon.

Place the knot inside the New Year’s Eve party hat. Fold and curl the New Year’s Eve party hat, slipping the tab inside the slit.

Step 3: Attach ties to your New Year’s Eve Party Hats

Cut two pieces of white ribbon about 12-16 inches long each. Tape them to the inside of the 2022 printable New Year’s Eve party hat template using tape or a stapler. Or you can use elastic if you’d like it to be stretchy.

Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! One…!
